City Park Players is thrilled to bring an epic fairy tale, Ondine (on-deen) , by Maurice Valency & Jean Giraudoux (jerr-rod-oh), to Hearn Stage this year. Directed by Diane Falcone (fal-cone), Ondine opens May 18. Ondine performances continue May 18-28 – Thursdays-Saturdays at 7:30pm; Sundays at 2:30pm on Hearn Stage in Downtown Alexandria. Tickets range from $5-15, and are on sale now at cpptheatre.com and will be available 30 minutes before each performance in the lobby of Kress Theatre. Kisatchie Fishing Derbies
There will be Youth Fishing Derbies in the Kisatchie National Forest on May 20, June 3, and June 10 on Fullerton Lake (May 20), Stuart Lake (June 3), Bombing Range Pond (June 3), and Kincaid Lake west boat ramp (June 10)
The Derbies are free and open to children ages 2 – 12. Bring Fishing gear, bait, water, sunscreen, and chairs. Adults may cast for children, but are not allowed to reel in the fish. Space is limited on the Stuart Lake (Catahoula Ranger District) and Bombing Range Pond (Winn Ranger District) derbies so registration forms must be completed and turned in to the district prior to the fishing derby. Catholic Charities Golf Tournament
Catholic Charities of Central Louisiana’s “Hole Lotta Fun” Golf tournament will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023, at Tamahka Trails Golf Course, Paragon Casino, Marksville, LA. Registration and lunch will start at 11:30 a.m and Shotgun Start will be at 1:00 p.m. Golf tournament will be a Foursome Team. There will be specialty contests throughout the tournament.
